Dyer Kickers offers an in-house recreational league for kids ages 3-16. This program focuses on skill development and having fun. We hope to develop a passion for the game of soccer at an early age. Our in-house league relies on parent volunteers to coach. Previous coaching experience is not needed. Dyer Kickers will provide coaches with the resources they need to run successful practices. Teams typically practice one to two times per week. Games will take place on Saturdays, but some Friday night or Sunday afternoon games may be needed if weather limits Saturday games. Games for the in-house league are always played in Dyer, U6-U8 play at Northgate Park and U10-U16 play at Central Park. Depending on registration numbers, we may combine older divisions to be sure all kids have a chance to play.

The Rec+ Travel Program for the more experienced player aged U8-U16 who excels at in-house play. This program is a stepping stone between in-house play and club-level play. Players compete against teams from the surrounding Northwest Indiana area who are also passionate and excel in the sport.

The Rec+ Travel program runs during the Fall and Spring seasons and is sanctioned by NWISL (nwisl.com). The league is comprised of 22 surrounding towns within Northwest Indiana. NWISL places each team in one of several tiers. Team placement is based on the time the team has been together, how many players the club returns to the league every year, and other factors. New teams with newer players are generally placed in lower divisions; whereas, teams that have played together and have done well move up to higher divisions. Rec+ teams typically practice twice per week. There are typically four home and four away games. Away game locations vary by who is in your bracket. The Spring season includes an end of the season tournament with the final location determined by NWISL. The Towns that are included are as close as Munster and Schererville, and as far away as Demotte and Valporaiso. Games are set by NWISL and usually occur on Sundays between 10:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. Some Saturday games are possible and should be expected. Coaches for this program are volunteers, but are usually more experienced than in-house coaches.

For U10-U16, the Rec+ teams can be separated into boys and girls teams if the amount of player registered allows. Please note that if we do not receive enough registrations for a separate girls team than a Co-ed team will be formed. For U8, the team(s) remain Co-ed.

Dyer Kickers does our best to keep the teams together season to season, but team rosters are not guaranteed and depend on coaches and registrations.

Because this is a competitive league, Dyer Kickers reserves the right to hold player evaluations before players are placed on a roster each season. Player spots are limited by NWISL . Rec+ Evaluations are mandatory for all players NEW to Rec+ and strongly encouraged for all current players.
